Our Team
Brad Rice, Manager
Brad Rice has served as General Manager of Salinas Land Company for more than 20 years, helping guide the company’s long-term commitment to responsible land and water stewardship. He oversees operations with focus on integrity, sustainability, and strong relationships, combining modern agricultural innovation with time-tested farming practices.
In addition to his role at Salinas Land Company, Brad is on the Board of Directors for the Salinas Valley Water Coalition and is actively involved with Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) initiatives. He also served for 12 years on the Board of Trustees for Hartnell College and remains active in community events and regional efforts that reflect the company’s dedication to responsible water management and community engagement.
Jon Conatser, Assistant Manager
Jon Conatser serves as Assistant Manager at Salinas Land Company, supporting day-to-day operations across the company’s properties. A seventh-generation local with deep family ties to Salinas Land Company, Jon brings extensive farming experience and a deep respect for the land. His background and values strongly align with the company’s long-standing commitment to stewardship and integrity.
He is actively involved in the local community, serving on the Salinas Valley Fair Board, the South Monterey County Fire Board, the Monterey County Water Resources Board, and the San Antonio Valley Historical Association. Guided by a belief in stewardship, integrity, and long-term responsibility, Jon is committed to preserving the land for future generations.

Abe Hobson, C.C. Teague, and John Lagomarsino founded The Salinas Land Co. and California Orchard Co. back in 1917 and has been growing produce such as table grapes, apricots, walnuts, pink beans, sugar beets, peaches, wine grapes, and various row crops for over 100 years.
